The spiritual gift of discernment is the ability to distinguish between good and evil, truth and falsehood, and right and wrong, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ability to judge situations or people accurately, and to understand the motives and intentions behind their actions.

The gift of discernment is mentioned in several places in the Bible, including 1 Corinthians 12:10, where it is listed among the spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit to the members of the church. It is also mentioned in Hebrews 5:14, where it says, “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”

Those who possess the gift of discernment are often sought out for their ability to provide wise counsel and guidance. They are able to see through deception and recognize the true nature of a situation, and they can provide insight and guidance based on their understanding of God’s will.

It is important to note that the gift of discernment is not the same as judgmentalism or a critical spirit. Rather, it is a gift of wisdom and insight that comes from God, and is intended to be used for the benefit of others and the glory of God.
